New Jersey Car Service to JFK, LaGuardia and Newark
New Jersey Car Service to JFK, LaGuardia and Newark
New Jersey car service to JFK, LaGuardia and Newark starts with one question most booking forms never ask: what time does the flight leave? From Jersey City the drive to JFK can take 45 minutes or two hours, depending on the hour. We plan the pickup around that, not around a map.
Gotham Ride drives from the Hudson waterfront, Bergen County, Essex and Morris counties, the Monmouth shore and Princeton to JFK, LaGuardia and Newark, and back home again. Every quote is all-inclusive, with tolls and the chauffeur's gratuity built in. Child seats are free. The price you accept is the price you pay, even if the Turnpike backs up.

NJ to JFK car service, plus LaGuardia and Newark
Car service, limo service, airport transfer. Most New Jersey callers mix the words up, and the booking is the same: one private car, one chauffeur, straight to the terminal.
New Jersey to JFK
45 min to 2.5 hr+ · quote on request
The airport for most long-haul and international flights. Getting there from New Jersey means crossing two rivers, either through Manhattan by tunnel or south around it over the Verrazzano. Dispatch picks the crossing on the day.
New Jersey to LaGuardia
Quote on request
Mostly domestic flights. A car service from NJ to LaGuardia is often the shorter trip from Bergen County, where the George Washington Bridge puts you on a direct line across the Bronx to the airport. Check whether your flight also leaves from here before you book JFK.
New Jersey to Newark
15 min to 2 hr · quote on request
The closest of the three from most of the state, and the only one you can reach without crossing into New York. United runs its hub out of Terminal C. The quote works the same way, and so does the free wait on arrivals.
How long the drive takes from New Jersey
These are the times our dispatchers plan with, from real trips. Rush hour covers weekday mornings from 7 to 10 and afternoons from 3 to 7.
| From | To JFK, off-peak | To JFK, rush hour | To Newark, off-peak | To Newark, rush hour |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Jersey City | 45 to 60 min | 75 to 120 min | 15 to 25 min | 35 to 55 min |
| Montclair | 60 to 75 min | 90 to 120 min | 20 to 30 min | 45 to 70 min |
| Morristown | 75 to 90 min | 1 hr 45 min to 2.5 hr | 35 to 45 min | 75 to 105 min |
| Princeton | 90 min to 1 hr 45 min | 2 hr to 2.5 hr+ | 45 to 55 min | 80 to 120 min |
Gotham Ride dispatch planning times, October 2026. Off-peak means nights, weekends and midday.
At rush hour the same trip can take twice as long, and the farther west or south you start, the wider the range gets. Early morning flights usually mean a pickup before the rush starts, so the off-peak columns apply. Afternoon and evening departures land right in the 3 to 7 window. From Princeton, Newark at rush hour can take as long as JFK does on a quiet night.
New Jersey car service, town by town
Jersey City and Hoboken
The closest New Jersey car service pickups to the New York airports, and the most sensitive to traffic. From the waterfront the car goes through the Holland Tunnel and across Manhattan, or down to the Bayonne Bridge and over Staten Island to the Verrazzano.
PATH gets you into Manhattan fast, but it stops well short of JFK and LaGuardia. With bags, the car saves two transfers.
Bergen County
Englewood, Fort Lee, Tenafly, Cresskill, Ridgewood, Glen Rock and Franklin Lakes sit near the George Washington Bridge. That makes LaGuardia the natural airport from here. The bridge itself is the variable, so we time Bergen County pickups off the hour, not the mileage. Flying private? Teterboro is in Bergen County too, and our Teterboro Airport car service page covers its FBOs.
Montclair and Essex County
Montclair, Livingston, Caldwell, Maplewood, Millburn and Short Hills. NJ Transit runs into Penn Station from much of Essex County, but the train ends in Midtown and JFK is still a subway or LIRR ride and an AirTrain away.
From Montclair, plan on an hour to JFK at night and up to two hours on a weekday afternoon.
Morristown, Summit and the Morris corridor
Morristown, Madison, Chatham, Summit, New Providence, Westfield and Bernardsville. The drive east on I-78 or I-280 meets the same river crossings as everyone else, which is why rush hour can stretch the trip past two hours.
Princeton
The longest New Jersey car service trip we run, up the Turnpike toward Staten Island and the Verrazzano, then along the Belt Parkway to JFK. Allow at least 90 minutes on a clear night and up to two and a half hours or more on a weekday. Newark is the closest of the three from Princeton, 45 to 55 minutes off-peak, so check it first.
Princeton Junction has trains to New York, but you'd still change at Penn Station and again at Jamaica.
Red Bank and Rumson
New Jersey car service from Monmouth County to all three airports. Tell us the flight and we'll send a time. Most shore trips go north on the Garden State Parkway before crossing to Staten Island.

From JFK, LaGuardia or Newark back to New Jersey
Coming home works the same way. We track the flight, the chauffeur meets you inside arrivals, and the price was set before you took off. Airport arrivals include 60 minutes of free wait time, on domestic and international flights alike.
At JFK Terminals 5 and 7, where car pickups moved to the Howard Beach AirTrain lot, your chauffeur meets you inside arrivals and walks you to the car.
Chauffeur service in NJ, timed off your flight
Every New Jersey car service booking starts with the flight number. Dispatch works backward from the departure time, checks whether the pickup falls in a rush hour window, and sets the time using the rush hour columns of the table above when they apply. You don't have to guess.
A morning flight from Princeton and an evening flight from Jersey City need very different pickup times, even though the second trip is shorter. We set yours from the flight, then the car arrives early and the chauffeur waits.
On the way home, we watch the landing. A late flight moves the pickup with it instead of losing the car.
A pre-dawn Princeton pickup. The car is there before you are.
What a car service from New Jersey to JFK costs
We quote every New Jersey car service trip on its own, because the price depends on the town, the time of day and the vehicle. A Princeton pickup at rush hour isn't the same job as a Jersey City pickup at midnight.
What doesn't change is how the quote works. It's all-inclusive, with tolls and the chauffeur's gratuity already in it. Once you accept it, the price is locked. No surge, no meter, no add-ons at the curb.
Send the pickup address, the airport and the date and time, and you'll get a quote back, usually within the hour. Child seats are free on every New Jersey car service booking.
Child seats are free
Seats go in before the car reaches your driveway.
Tell us each child's age and weight when you book and we install the right seats before the car reaches you. If you'd rather use your own, the chauffeur will put it in. Seat types by age are in our guide to airport car service with car seats.
It matters more on a New Jersey airport trip than almost anywhere else. These are long drives, often in the dark, and nobody wants to fight a harness at 4am in a Morristown driveway.
New Jersey car service, Uber Black, a taxi or the train
There are four ways to get from New Jersey to the airport. Each one has a weak spot.
The train is the cheapest. From most of New Jersey it means PATH or NJ Transit into Manhattan, then the subway or the Long Island Rail Road to Jamaica, then AirTrain to JFK. LaGuardia has no train at all, so the last leg there is a bus. Newark is the easiest by rail, with NJ Transit to the AirTrain station. With luggage and an early flight, that's a lot of transfers.
Uber Black works on a calm day. The problem is the early morning. The calls we get follow a pattern: a driver accepts and then cancels, the car doesn't show up, or the driver wants to change the fare before he'll leave. The app also sets the price when you open it, so a Sunday evening in August costs more than the Tuesday you checked.
A taxi runs on the meter, so traffic sets the price, and tolls come on top. Getting one to a suburban driveway at 4am is its own problem.
A booked chauffeur costs more than the train. What you get is a chauffeur assigned in advance, a price set when you book, and a dispatcher watching your flight.
| Train | Uber Black | Taxi | Gotham Ride | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Price | Lowest | Set when you open the app | Meter plus tolls | Set when you book |
| Transfers | Two or three | None | None | None |
| 4am pickup | Limited service | Can cancel or not show | Hard to find | Chauffeur assigned ahead |
| If your flight is late | Your problem | Ride is gone | Ride is gone | We track it |
| Airport wait | None | Minutes, then fees | Taxi line | 60 minutes free |
| Child seats | Bring your own | Not provided | Not provided | Free, installed |
What the difference pays for
- A chauffeur assigned to your trip in advance, not whoever accepts
- One all-inclusive price, agreed before the day
- Flight tracking on the way home
- 60 minutes of free wait time on airport arrivals
- Free child seats, already installed
- A dispatcher who answers the phone at 3am
The fleet
Pick your New Jersey car service vehicle by the luggage, not the head count. Two people with four big suitcases need the SUV, and a family of five flying out for two weeks usually needs the Escalade or the van. Tell us what you're packing and we'll match it.

New Jersey car service questions
How long does a car service from NJ to JFK take?
Off-peak, about 45 to 60 minutes from Jersey City, 60 to 75 from Montclair, 75 to 90 from Morristown and 90 minutes to 1 hour 45 from Princeton. On weekday mornings from 7 to 10 and afternoons from 3 to 7, plan on 75 minutes to 2.5 hours or more, depending on the town.
Which airport is closest to New Jersey?
Newark, from most of the state: 15 to 25 minutes off-peak from Jersey City and 45 to 55 from Princeton. Between the two New York airports, LaGuardia is usually the shorter drive from Bergen County and the Hudson waterfront. Choose the airport by the flight, then let us time the pickup.
How much is a car service from New Jersey to JFK?
We quote each trip, because the price depends on the town, the time and the vehicle. Every quote is all-inclusive, with tolls and gratuity in it, and the price is locked once you accept it.
Do you provide child seats?
Yes, and they're free. Give us each child's age and weight when you book and we install the right seats before the car reaches you. Bring your own and the chauffeur will put it in.
Do you drive from New Jersey to Newark Airport?
Yes. Newark trips from anywhere in New Jersey, in both directions, with the same all-inclusive quote, free child seats and 60 minutes of free wait time on arrivals.
Is this a limo service?
Most New Jersey callers use limo service and car service to mean the same thing. We drive sedans, SUVs, an Escalade and vans with professional chauffeurs, not stretch limousines or party buses. The all-inclusive price and the free child seats are the same either way.
Is Uber Black cheaper from New Jersey to JFK?
Sometimes, on a quiet day. The app sets its price when you open it, so it moves with demand. The bigger risk is at 4am: drivers who cancel, don't show up, or want to change the fare. We set the price when you book and assign the chauffeur ahead of time.
Do you pick up at JFK, LaGuardia and Newark for the drive back to New Jersey?
Yes. We track the flight, the chauffeur meets you inside arrivals, and airport arrivals include 60 minutes of free wait time.
What time should I leave New Jersey for an early flight?
Take the drive time for your town from the table, use the rush hour column if you're leaving on a weekday morning, and add the time your airline wants you at the airport. Or send us the flight number and we'll set the pickup.
How far ahead should I book?
The night before is enough for most trips. For an early flight, a group or a Sprinter van, book a day or more ahead.
Can I book for someone else?
Yes. Book for a client, a colleague or a parent and the charge comes to you. Corporate accounts handle that.
